‘The Increased Difficulty of Concentration’
Kent State Trumbull Theatre will present “The Increased Difficulty of Concentration” for six performances over two consecutive weekends, beginning Friday. Pictured in a scene from the play are Mariah Armstrong and Charles Smith. Written by Vaclav Havel and directed by Eric S. Kildow, the classic farce done in 30 scenes with no chronological sequence is about Dr. Hummel, who has a wife, a mistress and a secretary. Dr. Hummel tries to make sense of his life while juggling his abstract philosophical musings, his women and his pseudo-scientific investigation of self through a strange machine called Pazuk. All Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8 p.m.; Sunday shows start at 3 p.m. Tickets are $10 ($8 for non-Kent State students and senior citizens, and $6 for children 12 and under). Call 330-675-8887. The theater is at the Trumbull campus, 4314 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren.
