Annual Maple Syrup Festival in Boardman

The 40th annual Maple Syrup Festival and Boardman Rotary Pancake Breakfast will take place this weekend and next at Boardman Park.

Hours for the free event are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and March 25 and 26.

At Chester Long Pavilion, park staff will demonstrate how maple trees are tapped and the sap is collected, and then boiled down to make syrup. There also will be a Civil War re-enactment and wagon rides on the park trails.

In the Lariccia Family Community Center, there will be woodcarver, historical displays and more.

A pancake breakfast ($6, free for children 6 and under) will be served each day. For information, go to boardmanpark.com or call 330-726-8107.
