2 in area seek Fla. superintendent post

Two Youngstown City School District educators are among 44 applicants from across the nation who have applied to work as the superintendent of Alachua County Public Schools in Florida, according to a story reported in The Gainesville Sun.
The two are Stephen Stohla, interim superintendent of the Youngstown district, and Tryvan Leech, executive director of federal and state programs for prekindergarten through 12th grade.
The new superintendent is expected to start July 1, according to the Sun.
Shot fired in bar fight

Police reports said someone fired a shot into the ceiling of a 3114 South Ave. bar late Monday evening during a brawl.
Reports said officers were called about 11:35 p.m. to Club Twisted, where a bartender told them a man was arguing with several people. When she told them to stop, one of them threw a glass at her and another man took a gun out of his pants and fired a round into the ceiling.
The owner of the bar was called, and when he arrived, a woman sucker-punched him in the face, reports said.
No one was injured in the shooting. No arrests were made, but detectives are investigating, reports said.
Apartment break-in

Police are investigating a burglary reported at a Washington Boulevard apartment.
A resident told police Monday she came home after the weekend to find her property scattered throughout the apartment. She told police she was missing a $500 television, an Xbox gaming console and several pairs of Nike tennis shoes. In total, about $1,300 worth of property was reported missing.
TVs taken from home
CAMPBELL
Police are investigating a burglary they say took place between Monday morning and afternoon. The victim arrived at his home on Van Buren Avenue about 2 p.m. to find his back door forced open, according to a police report. Two flat-screen TVs were stolen.
