A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield, Austintown, Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:

CANFIELD

Feb. 24

Drug abuse: Police arrested McKenzie Montecalvo, 22, of Louis Avenue, Girard, on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, and Micah Owens-Forney, 21, of Russo Avenue on a charge of drug abuse.

Feb. 26

Arrest: Police arrested Cynthia Thomas, 56, of Fairground Boulevard on a charge of domestic violence.

March 5

Arrest: Police arrested Jacob George, 20, of Lockwood Boulevard, Boardman, on a charge of wrongful entrustment.

AUSTINTOWN

Feb. 27

Criminal damaging: Windows were damaged with blacktop chunks at Emmanuel Ministries, 6512 Kirk Road.

Theft: Thieves pushed out a cart with $265 in merchandise at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: A female student’s vehicle was damaged at Austintown Fitch High School, 4506 Falcon Drive.

Identity theft: Unauthorized use of accounts was reported at a home in the 5000 block of Yorktown Lane.

Bad checks: Bad checks were passed at The Babylon, 14 Javit Court.

Aggravated menacing: Twitter threats were reported at a home in the 300 block of North Turner Road.

Feb. 28

Bond violation: Police issued a summons to Peter Spare, 24, of Woodhurst Drive for violation of conditions of bond by trespassing at an apartment on Woodhurst and for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of dangerous drugs.

Recovered property: Five truck wheels, a 3-ton jack, and a tire changer were found in a ditch near a house in the 4000 block of Burgett Road.

March 1

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Cierra Rasile, 18, of Northfield Drive, Mineral Ridge on a charge of possession of marijuana.

Warrant: Police arrested Stefani Kelly, 42, of Hazelwood Avenue, Youngstown, on a warrant for failure to appear on a probation violation for theft.

Menacing: Verbal threats were reported to a person who lives at a home in the 3000 block of Elmwood Avenue.

Domestic violence: Police arrested Ryan Minick, 37, of Peffe Avenue, Niles, on charges of domestic violence and resisting arrest at a home in the 2000 block of North Redgate Lane.

March 2

Arson: A suspicious fire was reported in the laundry room at Brookdale Austintown,1420 S. Canfield-Niles Road.

Fraud: A homeowner in the 4000 block of East Radio Road was scammed out of $1,200.

March 3

Obstructing official business: Police arrested Keyshawn Blalock, 18, of New Road on a charge of obstructing official business.

Telecommunications harassment: A female who lives in the 200 block of South Edgehill Avenue reported unwanted calls and texts from an ex-boyfriend at Dollar General, 2002 S. Raccoon Road.

March 4

Burglary: Police arrested Zachery Davenport, 23, of Forest Hill Drive on a burglary charge at a home in the 3000 block of Oakwood Avenue.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s finish was damaged by key in the parking lot in the 1000 block of Fountain Square.

March 5

Warrant: Police arrested Jessie Gillam, 19, of Nassau Court on a warrant for passing two stolen checks from First National Bank at Emilio’s Drive Thru,1255 S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: A pair of pink, gray and white “Air Jordan” tennis shoes were taken at Austintown Skate Zone, 5420 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A cell phone was stolen from Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course, 655 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: Police issued a summons to Darnell Brown, 57, of Upland Avenue, Youngstown, on a theft charge. Police accuse him of taking $116.95 in merchandise at Walmart.

Theft: A wallet was stolen from the Meating Place, 4282 New Road and charges were made on a credit card in the wallet.

Theft: A clerk was scammed out of $300 at Aldi’s, 5863 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Police arrested Amanda Richards, 22, of Iddings Avenue, Warren, on a theft charge. Police accused her of taking $82.98 in merchandise at Walmart.

HUBBARD

March 3

Summonses: Anissa R. Givens of South Main Street, and Mark A. Kolbrick of Creed Avenue, were given summonses charging disorderly conduct after an officer reported having seen Givens and Kolbrick, both 18 and of Hubbard, fighting with each other in a van while he was on patrol.

Trespassing: A Hubbard woman, 18, was given a criminal-trespassing warning after a Creed Avenue woman reported the teen was on her property against the accuser’s wishes.

March 4

Domestic violence: Daniel P. Good, 26, of East Liberty Street, Hubbard, faced a felony charge after police had responded to a call about someone possibly trying to enter a residence carrying a knife. Good’s mother alleged he threatened to slit her throat after having become enraged when she confronted him about threats he reportedly had made against another person, a report showed.

LIBERTY

March 6

Arrest: Police were dispatched to a Motor Inn Drive motel regarding an unwanted person before arresting Tera L. Tuchek, 26, of North Hazelwood Avenue, Youngstown. She was wanted on a township probation-violation charge.

Arrest: After stopping her car on Goldie Road, authorities charged Elaine M. Wright, 41, with operating a vehicle impaired. Wright, of Winter Park Avenue, Youngstown, refused to submit to a Breathalyzer test, a report showed.

Possible theft: Boardman police contacted Liberty authorities about a registration sticker thought to have been stolen off a Church Hill Road man’s vehicle.

Stolen property: Officers in the 200 block of Colonial Drive noticed a suspicious car and, after running its registration information, discovered the 2004 Ford Taurus had been stolen.

Recovered property: After police recovered a 2004 Kawasaki motorcycle, the owner of Church Hill Motors, 1480 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, said he believed the vehicle had been taken from his business.

March 7

Recovered property: Police in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive reported finding a 2000 Buick Park Avenue that had been reported stolen in Austintown.

Arrest: Jermaine L. White, 35, of Kimblewick Lane Northeast, Warren, was charged with operating a vehicle impaired after officers had pulled him over near East Liberty Street.

Auto theft: A 1997 Ford sport utility vehicle was stolen in the 10 block of Holly Drive.

March 8

Assault: The program director with a Girard business reported receiving secondhand information that an employee had choked one of the residents.

Arrest: Youngstown police in the 2700 block of Belmont Avenue handed Kalyn D. Sly, 22, to township authorities. Sly, of Market Street, Youngstown, was wanted on a Girard Municipal Court warrant.

Vandalism: Someone in the 1200 block of Trumbull Avenue likely used a BB or a small rock to shatter a company-owned vehicle’s window.

Arrest: A vehicle check and traffic stop on Belmont Avenue resulted in the arrest of Sean A. Burnett of Harold Lane, Campbell, on a charge of obstructing official business after the driver alleged Burnett, 23, had provided a false name to avoid being arrested on a warrant.

Criminal damaging: A shed in the 200 block of Goldie Road was found with burn marks on part of its plywood floor. Damage was estimated at $100.

Breaking and entering: Someone broke into a vacant home in the 1100 block of Academy Drive through a window, did and estimated $2,000 in damage to the ceiling and removed copper piping.

March 9

Auto theft: A 2014 Ford Focus was stolen in the 10 block of Holly Drive.

March 10

Arrests: While responding to a report of an unwanted person at a Belmont Avenue motel, authorities charged Antwan A. Reeves, 33, of Andrews Street, Sharon, Pa., with criminal trespassing when, police said, Reeves admitted being at the motel despite having known he was not permitted on the property. Also, Stephen R. Perozich, 38, of Fabian Way, Sharon, was taken into custody on a warrant from that city.

GIRARD

March 5

Fraud: A Morris Avenue man learned that his stolen credit card had been used to make $1,400 worth of fraudulent purchases at two large grocery stores, including one in Boardman.

Menacing: A man told officers another man intentionally flashed a strobe light at the accuser as he drove in the 10 block of South Ward Avenue, then threatened the motorist.

March 6

Criminal mischief: A Trumbull Avenue couple said they noticed three holes in a portion of their backyard vinyl fence. The damage estimate was $200.

March 7

Arrest: Police took Faron J. White, no age given, into custody at his Forsythe Avenue residence. The Girard man was wanted on a Trumbull County 911 center warrant charging assault.

Harassment: A Park Avenue woman said she’s receiving numerous unwanted calls from various solicitors.

Theft: A man reportedly stole an item from Rite Aid Pharmacy, 713 N. State St.

Theft: An East Prospect Street woman reported having never received two packages that contained Xbox and Sony PlayStation 4 game systems, leading her to surmise they had been stolen from her home.

March 8

Harassment: A Shannon Road woman told officers two students sent her 16-year-old daughter 12 or 13 such text messages in which they posed as a police officer.

Theft: A temporary tag was removed from a vehicle in the 60 block of Hartzell Avenue.

March 9

Menacing: An East Kline Street woman said her daughter had received more than a month’s worth of threatening Facebook messages that included an implied threat that the daughter would be killed.

Harassment: A Hazel Street woman reported her former husband has sent her such text messages and has had unwanted contact with her.

Assault: A woman alleged another woman pushed her way into the accuser’s Idaho Avenue residence and, during an argument, spit in her face.
