Foundation awards grant to Project 180

WARREN

The Regina M. Rebhan Family Foundation has awarded a $50,000 grant to local Christian-based Project 180.

The purpose of Project 180 is to have a significant impact on individuals and families that are plagued with the drug epidemic.

The goals of Project 180 include a long-term recovery home for women and men. The primary focus at this time is a home for women that will be ready for residents this summer.

The foundation typically awards four to eight grants per year, with an annual payout of about $100,000.

To date, the Regina M. Rebhan Foundation has awarded grants more than $600,000. Grant applications will be available for qualifying organizations at www.rebhanfoundation.org April 1.

Panel discussion

Local business owner Kristin Scott-Biggs, owner of soy candle business Gifts From A Virgo, located at 6913 Market St., will lead a panel discussion in April on entrepreneurship.

Scott-Biggs, in collaboration with Jasmyne N. Brandon, of Dash Line Public Relations Group, will offer women advice about entrepreneurship, business and community engagement during “Brunching with Dash,” from noon to 3 p.m. April 30 followed by Shoppes at Dash from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel, 24 Public Square.

Free Cone Day

YOUNGSTOWN

The Dairy Queen system will celebrate the first day of spring with Free Cone Day.

On March 20, participating nonmall Dairy Queen and DQ Grill & Chill locations in the U.S. will host Free Cone Day when fans can enjoy a free small vanilla soft-serve cone. The limit is one per customer while supplies last.

Business showcase

The Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce invites residents and business owners to attend the Business Showcase on Thursday at Regal Jewelers, 246 E. Park Ave.

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with refreshments, networking and brief presentations by Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce members.

Northeast Counties Farm Bureau, Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, Mahoning and Trumbull counties recently announced their partnership with NMS, Certified Public Accountants to provide more local benefits for Farm Bureau members.

NMS offers tax preparation and accounting services. Upon proof of membership, NMS is offering bureau members a 20 percent discount on tax preparation at any of the four locations.
