Boardman Rotary Maple Syrup Fest is next two weekends

Boardman Park, 375 Boardman-Poland Road, will host the 40th annual Maple Syrup Festival and Boardman Rotary Pancake Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and next Sunday and March 25-26.
Park staff will demonstrate the syrup-making process, from tapping maple trees, collecting sap, and boiling it. Boy Scout Troop 60 will demonstrate its skills, and there also will be a Civil War re-enactment, plus wagon rides through the park trails.
At the Lariccia Family Community Center, the Boardman Historical Society will share township history, and there also will be woodcarvers and taxidermy demonstrations. Syrup also can be purchased.
On display will be artwork from Boardman Center Intermediate School and the parents of Boy Scout Troop 60 will have a basket raffle.
The cost of breakfast is $6 per person and children ages 6 and under eat free. Proceeds support the Boardman Rotary. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
