Valley’s February auto sales up 6.7 percent

Local auto sales in February were up 6.7 percent.

A total of 4,283 new and used vehicles were sold, up from 4,011 sold in February 2016, according to the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association.

For the year so far, sales in the Mahoning Valley are up 11.4 percent from 8,133 in 2016 to 9,180.

The top three dealers with the most sales in February were Greenwood Chevrolet in Austintown with 320 sales; Sweeney Chevrolet in Boardman with 307 sales; and Stadium Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac in Salem with 282 sales. All saw increases from the previous year’s sales.

A total of 2,507 new vehicles were sold in February, up 13.4 percent from February 2016’s 2,171 new sales.

To date, new sales for the year are up 15.8 percent.

A total of 1,725 used vehicles were sold in February, down 3.4 percent from the previous year.

To date, used sales for the year are up 4.1 percent.
