Harding’s Daugherty 6th in girls state bowling tourney

Warren Harding’s Katelyn Daugherty began the Division I girls state bowling tournament on a roll.

Daugherty, a senior, began with a 258 game Friday at Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl and wound up sixth among individual competitors.

Daugherty added games of 182 and 183 for a 623 series.

Freshman Dakota Fink of Columbus Briggs was the individual champion with games of 248, 220 and 209 for a 677 series.

Harding senior Brianna Nolen rolled games of 148, 202 and 195 for a 545 series to finish in 30th place among individuals.

Harding finished 12th among 16 teams. The top eight qualified for the team finals.

Stow-Munroe Falls defeated Troy in the team finals to capture the state championship.

Boardman will compete today in the Division I boys state tournament.
