BJ’s to open April 24

Staff report

BOARDMAN

BJ’s Restaurant and Brew-house will officially open April 24.

Boardman’s newest restaurant at 7327 Market St. took the space where the now-shuttered Cheddar’s Casual Cafe used to be.

The new BJ’s will be 7,500 square feet.

BJ’s purchased the land, knocked down the former restaurant there and built the new building. BJ’s, a California-based chain with 177 restaurants in 23 states, submitted construction plans to the Boardman Zoning Department in July 2016.

BJ’s first opened in the late 1970s at locations on the coast of Southern California. It has seven locations in Ohio. The Boardman BJ’s will feature the restaurant’s 130-plus-item menu, including its deep-dish pizza and craft beer.

BJ’s has 11 award-winning signature beers and cider on tap. BJ’s releases more than 10 rotating seasonal beers throughout the year. The company operates six breweries in five states.

Hiring for the restaurant will begin March 26. A total of 165 will be hired for this location.
