Stambaugh youth band plans spring concert

YOUNGSTOWN
The Stambaugh Youth Concert Band will close the 2016-17 season with a spring concert, featuring soloist Kailey Coughlin, on April 11 at 7:30 p.m. at Stambaugh Auditorium.
Tickets are $5 ($2 for students and senior citizens), and are available at the box office, 1000 Fifth Ave.; by phone at 330-259-0555, and at stambaughauditorium.com.
The program will consist of selections from Susato’s “The Danserye” to contemporary works for wind band by Martin Ellerby.
Coughlin began playing the clarinet when she was 10 years old and has studied with Nancy Moore for the past five years. She was selected for the 2017 OMEA All-State Orchestra. She has been the principal clarinetist for the Lakeview High School Symphonic Band, SYCB, Youngstown Youth Orchestra and the OMEA District V Honors Band. She has been a member of the SYCB for four years and the Youngstown Symphony Youth Orchestra for three years.
Coughlin plays baritone saxophone in Lakeview High School Jazz Ensemble Blue, has danced competitively for nine years and was a Lakeview High majorette for four years. She will graduate as valedictorian from Lakeview in May and will attend the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University this fall to major in music education.
