The Mahoning Valley Young Professionals will have a volunteer event with the Salvation Army, 444 Boardman-Canfield Road, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Wollet appointed to new position at PNC

YOUNGSTOWN

PNC Bank on Wednesday announced the appointment of Bob Wollet to senior vice president and relationship manager for PNC Corporate and Institutional Banking. In his position, Wollet is responsible for portfolio management and new business development for mid- to large-size companies. Wollet has 26 years of banking experience including credit underwriting and business banking. Most recently he has served as vice president and relationship manager for PNC Commercial Banking.

Wollet earned his bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University. He serves on the boards of the Youngstown Business Incubator, YMCA of Youngstown, Mercy Health Strategic Planning, YSU Center for Nonprofit Leadership and Difference Makers Charity. He is also a coach in the Youngstown Parochial Basketball League.

New WRTA branding campaign

Farris Marketing was retained by the Western Reserve Transit Authority, the public transit authority for Mahoning County and Youngstown, to develop and implement a new branding and ridership campaign. Farris has developed a campaign designed to increase awareness and make it easier for residents to access WRTA services.

St. Patrick’s Day

WASHINGTON

Americans will spend more than ever this St. Patrick’s Day, the National Retail Federation said this week. According to NRF’s annual survey conducted by Prosper Insights & Analytics, spending for St. Patrick’s Day is expected to reach $5.3 billion, a high in the survey’s 13-year history.

VW recalls Audis

BEIJING

Volkswagen’s main Chinese joint venture is recalling 680,925 Audi vehicles to check and possibly replace a coolant pump. The country’s product-quality agency said the recall applies to Audi A6L, Audi A4L and Audi Q5 vehicles manufactured in China between May 2011 and January 2016. The company also is recalling imported Audi A4 Allroad SUVs and Audi A5s made between November 2011 and November 2013.
