Santana seeks a new leash on life

Greg Miller, with the Trumbull Animal Cruelty Task Force, seized Santana off a property in Trumbull County as a result of animal neglect. Santana was left by his owner outside in the elements without food and water, emaciated, full of infection and heavy heartworm positive. He spent the last several months in boarding while he healed and received heartworm treatment. Today he flew out of Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport to continue his journey of finding a forever home, as the Pittsburgh Aviation Animal Rescue Team’s 5,000th rescue passenger. Santana is headed to South Hills Pet Rescue in South Hills, Pa., where he will be available for adoption.
