Opera Western Reserve hosts Spring Cabaret

Opera Western Reserve will host Spring Opera Cabaret at 7 p.m. May 19 in the Tyler Grand Ballroom of Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave.

Past stars of OWR will perform arias and Broadway favorites, and admission includes a selection of hors d’oeuvres and dessert. A cash bar and silent auction also will be available.

Tickets are $60 and are available at the Florence and Ward Beecher box office, Stambaugh Auditorium, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Tickets also are available at www.stambaughauditorium.com, or by calling 330-259-0555.

Silent auction items include wine tasting for a party of 20 at Michael Charles Premier Wines; a private upstairs party room for an evening for 25 guests with wine and pizza at Hartford Hill Winery; golf for four at Sand Ridge Country Club; dinner for 75 provided by Hot Heads Burritos featuring Amanda Jones and the Family Band; a week vacation at Fantasy Villages, Kissimmee, Fla., with a two-bedroom apartment; and a gourmet dinner for 10 prepared by Mark Canzonetta, executive chef of Aqua Pazzo, with wine pairings by Sam and Ken Miller.

OWR is a nonprofit, professional opera company in its 13th year at Stambaugh Auditorium. The company presents an annual performance in November of locally-produced opera. OWR’s young artists perform at schools in the tri-county area.
