The Trumbull County Citizens Budget Review Committee will have its next meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Trumbull County Commissioners meeting room, 160 High St. NW.

Awards are given for clean audit reports

WARREN

Auditor of State Dave Yost announced Girard City School District, Trumbull Metropolitan Housing and Franklin City School District received the Auditor of State Award for their clean audit reports.

The awards are given to local governments and school districts upon the completion of a financial audit.

Entities that receive the award meet the following criteria: filing timely financial reports; containing reports with no findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, single audit findings or questioned costs.

Part of road to close for tree clearing

SOUTHINGTON

County Line Turnpike Road, between Stroup Hickox Road and state Route 534, will be closed from Tuesday through Thursday for tree clearing for bridge replacement, the Trumbull County Engineer announced.

The recommended detour route is north on state Route 534, east on state Route 88, south on Hoffman Norton Road and west on County Line Turnpike Road.

Writer’s Guild award

YOUNGSTOWN

Vera Herbert, 2007 Ursuline High School alumna, won an award at the Writer’s Guild of America Annual Awards.

Herbert wrote the ninth episode titled “This Trip” of the NBC drama “This Is Us.”

The ceremony took place at the Beverly Hills Hilton in Los Angeles.
