Deadline for attorney in Hamad court case
WARREN
Judge Ronald Rice of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court has set a deadline of 4 p.m. Tuesday for the attorney for Nasser Hamad of Howland to file a notice with the court indicating whether he will be attorney of record in Hamad’s aggravated-murder case.
If the notice is not filed by then, a hearing will be set for 1:30 p.m. Thursday to determine who will represent Hamad, according to a judgment entry filed Friday.
The attorney mentioned in the filing is Geoffrey Oglesby of Sandusky, who stood in during Hamad’s arraignment hearing Thursday after Hamad complained about both of the attorneys with the Ohio Public Defender’s Office asked to stand in for Hamad at hearings on Monday and Thursday.
Oglesby said he had known Hamad “quite some time” and stopped in Warren on Thursday while passing through the area on business. The case is set for its first pretrial hearing at 1:30 p.m. March 30.
