Mill Creek Chapter of ABWA will celebrate its annual Woman of the Year event March 14 at Rachel’s Restaurant, 54 Westchester Drive, Austintown. A social will take place from 6 to 6:30 p.m. The menu is mixed garden salad, vegetable medley, oven roasted potatoes, baked chicken Italiano, roasted pork loin and dessert. Boardman-Poland Junior Women’s League will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Glenellen Assisted Living, 9661 Market St., Boardman. Plans will be finalized for “A Step Back In Thyme Tea” from 1 to 3 p.m. March 11 at Poland Presbyterian Church which will benefit Mahoning County women and children’s shelters. Tickets are $20 and are available from any league member. Members are to take items for a tea basket that will be given away at the tea. Wear green in recognition of St. Patrick’s Day and to welcome Spring. Hostesses for the meeting are Tina Bellino, Nina Lowery and Derrie Wilkes. The Boardman-Poland Junior Women’s League is open to all women over 18, residing in Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana counties who are interested in friendship, fun and community involvement. Friends of the Poland Library will meet Tuesday at the Poland Library, 311 S. Main St. Coffee hour will be at 9:30 a.m. and the program and business meeting will follow at 10. “The Beauty of Glass” will be presented by Jessica Trickett. Hostesses will be Peg Bodine, Sue Perry, Sue Faulkner and Jean McComb. Donations of books, magazines, CDs and DVDs are accepted at each meeting for the Poland Friends book cart. Parents Without Partners, Portage County Chapter 600, will have its monthly dance from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Ritchie Memorial Shelter House, 109 West Ave., Tallmadge.
