UMCC PROGRAMS


The mission of the United Methodist Community Center, with facilities in Youngstown and Warren, is to teach, develop and empower individuals and families. Programs include:

StopLift: An education course for first-time adult and juvenile offenders, in partnership with Mahoning and Trumbull counties, who have been convicted of shoplifting.

Senior Health and Wellness Program: Provides services and activities to seniors 65 and older who are residents of the Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority, International Towers and other qualifying Mahoning County seniors.

WorkKeys: A job-skills assessment system for veterans, is used to measure individuals real-world skills and creates computer-based assignments.

Oasis transportation: a grant-funded transportation program that takes veterans without reliable transportation to and from appointments.

Support Services programs: Provides food and clothing assistance to veterans; and receives referrals from the 211 Help Hotline and others community organizations.
