Eich Bros. sold

Home Savings Insurance Group, James & Sons has reached an agreement with Eich Bros Insurance Inc. to purchase their business.

Marty Eich, owner and president of Eich Bros, along with two of his staff members will join James & Sons.

Eich Bros. insurance agency was founded in 1961. Marty Eich’s grandfather, Lawrence, established L.W. Eich Insurance 30 years earlier in 1928, which eventually led to the combined efforts of his sons to form the Eich Bros. Insurance Agency. Marty Eich joined the agency in 1991 and became a principal in 1995.

James & Sons, also a long time Mahoning Valley insurance agency with a 95-year history of providing personalized service, was established in 1921 by C. Gilbert James. In January 2016, James & Sons was acquired by United Community Financial Corp., a holding company for Home Savings Bank.

Dividend declared

On Feb. 28, the board of directors of the Farmers National Banc Corp. declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.05 per share, a 25 percent increase from the 2016 first quarter payment. The common stock cash dividend will have a record date of March 10 and is payable to shareholders March 31.

Workplace grants

COLUMBUS

Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation announced that 34 employers will share more than $895,000 in grants to purchase equipment designed to substantially reduce or eliminate workplace injuries and illnesses.

In Mahoning County, the Cardinal Joint Fire District received $34,848.38 to purchase one power cot and one power load to reduce the risk of injury to hands, wrist, arms, shoulder, back and legs related to hand force, awkward postures, push/pull moderate to heavy load and manual materials handling.

In Trumbull County, Badurik LLC, a full-service retail butcher shop, received $11,983.75 to purchase one custom-built 40-foot meat rail to reduce the risk of injury to fingers, hands, arms, shoulder, neck, back and legs related to awkward postures, manual materials handling, lacerations, slips, trips and falls.
