Information Technology students from the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center traveled to Orlando, Fla from May 10-16 to compete at the 2017 National Business Professionals of America Leadership (BPA) Conference with their teacher and advisor, Helen Slack.
Logan Micheals, a senior from Poland High School, placed third in the Nation for his Mobile Application design and Nathan Davis, a senior from Western Reserve High School, also a national winner in the Mobile Application event placed first in Show at the National Showcase event. He is also industry credentialed as a Microsoft Office Specialist in PowerPoint.
Ethan Edwards and Kyle Mamounis, both juniors from Poland Seminary High School, and Marty Pavalko, a junior from Lowellville High School, placed in the top ten in the Nation in the Network Design Team event. Pavalko also achieved the Microsoft Technology Associate industry credential: HTML5 Application Development Fundamentals.
Dylan Mills, a senior from Austintown, was a national qualifier for the Presentation Management event and achieved industry credentials in Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) MS-PowerPoint and IC3.
Jayden Goddard, a junior from Canfield High School, was a national qualifier for the Fundamental Word Processing event.
BPA is an organization for students pursuing careers in business management, office administration, information technology and other fields. The MCCTC BPA team is led by IT Instructor Helen Slack.
