Fireworks in Ohio recalled over safety
WASHINGTON
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled TNT Red, White, & Blue Smoke fireworks sold at Target, Walmart and other retailers in Illinois, Ohio, Vermont and Wisconsin from May through June. The fireworks can explode unexpectedly after being lit. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled fireworks and contact America Promotional Events for a full refund. Each colored smoke firework is a cardboard cylinder tube that measures about 1 inch in diameter and 5 inches long. The TNT logo, “Red, White & Blue Smoke” and UPC number 027736036561 appear on the packaging.
Arrest in burglary

U.S. Marshals on Wednesday arrested a man wanted for a burglary reported at an Appleridge Drive residence.
Michael McCudden, 60, of Richview Avenue in Youngstown is charged in the incident reported Sunday.
According to a police report, the purported victim reported that he saw a man in his garage early that morning. The suspect, later identified as McCudden, reportedly attempted to steal a pressure washer, but fled after the victim ran after him.
Court records indicate that McCudden previously has been convicted on numerous other charges, including possession of heroin, theft, burglary and receiving stolen property.
Mayoral candidates to discuss racism

ACTION is sponsoring a panel discussion on racism with the Youngstown mayoral candidates at 9:15 a.m. July 11 at the St. Columba Cathedral, 159 W. Rayen Ave.
Democratic nominee Jamael Tito Brown and independents Sean McKinney and Janet Tarpley have confirmed they will attend. Cecil Monroe, also an independent, hasn’t confirmed.

Bistro plans dinners
CANFIELD
The Bistro Restaurant at The Adult Career Center at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center will be open for dinner from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday through July 20. It will be closed July 3 and 4 for Independence Day.
The Bistro is operated by Adult Culinary Students along with instructors Chefs Sean Kushma and Quinn Meechan. It is located at the school on North Palmyra Road. Cash and checks are accepted only, and reservations are recommended. Menu options are available on Mahoning County CTC’s Facebook page.
