Campground closes
BERLIN CENTER
Due to an issue with a wastewater system, Berlin Lake’s Mill Creek Campground will close effective at noon Wednesday. A reopening date has not yet been set.
The campground will honor reservations that already have been made for the July 4th weekend, and will maintain portable facilities at the site. New reservations and walk-ins will not be accepted.
The Army Corps of Engineers said a mechanical failure in the wastewater transmission system was identified. The Berlin Lake project office at 330-547-3801 is providing lists of other campgrounds to campers who are interested.

Not-guilty pleas
WARREN
Holly J. Michael, 26, of Ridge Road in Kinsman, pleaded not guilty Wednesday in Warren Municipal Court to child endangering, possessing drug-abuse instruments, failing to maintain physical control and reckless operation after being found passed out in a car in the parking lot of the Jamestown Village Plaza.
Officers arrived around 9 p.m. Tuesday and found Michael unresponsive in her running car, which was in drive. Her infant was in a car seat in the back.
The officer knocked on the window and Michael started to wake up. He asked Michael to unlock the door, which she did. The officer put the car in park.
Officers removed a bindle of suspected heroin from the car and found three used hypodermic needles in the console. Michael and the baby were taken to St. Joseph Warren Hospital, and Trumbull Children Services was notified.
Michael was released after posting $5,000 personal recognizance bond.
