A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

POLAND

June 23

Recovered property: A wallet with assorted credit cards was found in the 5300 block of Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road.

Aggravated menacing: A Boardman woman told police she had been threatened while she was in the 5000 block of Struthers Road.

June 25

Criminal mischief: A man noticed about 5 feet of lawn damage at his Kennedy Road residence.

Drugs: A traffic stop on state Route 616 led to the discovery of a bag containing 2 grams of suspected marijuana. Charges were pending.

June 26

Identity fraud: A Fairweather Trail woman discovered her credit card had been used to make $411 worth of fraudulent purchases in California.

BOARDMAN

June 23

Arrest: Police answered a complaint about an intoxicated person at a Market Street motel, where they charged Keith A. Barnhart, 44, of Belmont Avenue, Warren, with resisting arrest, obstructing official business and disorderly conduct while intoxicated. An inebriated Barnhart continued to use profanity in front of other tenants, then tried to pull away from an officer during the arrest, a report stated.

Theft: Police arrested Sydney Charles, 20, who listed addresses on Wick Oval Street in Youngstown and in Dunkirk, N.Y., after she was accused of stealing $179 worth of merchandise June 8 from Ulta Beauty, 403 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: Alicia M. Horvath of Buchanan Drive, Boardman, was taken into custody on a theft warrant. Horvath, 21, was accused of taking 15 cosmetics items from Ulta Beauty.

Truck theft: A 2006 Dodge truck was stolen in the 800 block of Cook Avenue.

Robbery: A worker for Rulli Bros., 8025 South Ave., told police that while in the parking lot gathering shopping carts, he noticed a suspicious man carrying items under instead of in shopping bags. The man reportedly showed the employee a 6- to 8-inch sheathed knife when the victim asked to see a receipt, then drove away in a silver Chevrolet Lumina. The accuser was not injured.

Theft: A woman reported her $700 iPhone missing from a locker at a McClurg Road business.

Attempted breaking and entering/vandalism: Someone tried to break into MetroPCS, 4605 Market St., and damaged the front door.

Theft: A man fled after having reportedly stolen a three-pack of men’s T-shirts from Family Dollar, 4030 Market St.

Misuse of a credit card: Christopher M. Grier, 32, faced a misdemeanor count of misuse of a credit card after a family member alleged he had stolen her debit card and used it to make $200 worth of unauthorized charges. Grier, of Brandon Avenue, Youngstown, admitted the crime, a report showed.

Theft: A man and a woman reportedly took a $190 window air-conditioning unit from Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, 385 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Domestic violence: Kenneth B. Bryant, 43, of Glenwood Avenue, Boardman, was charged with the crime after his girlfriend alleged Bryant had struck her in the eye during an argument related to a cellphone. The victim suffered swelling in the affected area.

Theft: Two 14-year-old Austintown girls were accused of stealing $408.50 worth of property, including cosmetics, from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Arrest: A vehicle check in the 7400 block of Market Street resulted in the arrest of Luke A. Maola, 31, who listed addresses on Lisbon Street and Carolina Avenue in East Liverpool. He was wanted on a parole-violation charge.

June 24

Theft: Haley E. Secre, 25, of West Evergreen Avenue, Youngstown, was charged with stealing about $223 worth of assorted Xbox and Sony PlayStation games from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Menacing: A woman who works at a Southern Park Mall kiosk reported a man has been giving her unwanted attention that included a call to the kiosk and a request that she communicate with him via Facebook.

Domestic violence: A vehicle check in the 4600 block of South Avenue led to the arrest of Jenna L. Brandenstein, 31, of Buchanan Drive, Boardman, on a domestic-violence charge, related to a June 5 situation in which the father of her son alleged Brandenstein had used pepper spray against him during a heated argument regarding her living arrangements.

Drugs: After being pulled over on U.S. Route 224, Matthew S. Balciar, 27, faced charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and drug-abuse instruments. Balciar, of Tippecanoe Road, Canfield, had a used syringe, a suspected crack-cocaine pipe and a spoon with burn marks common in drug use, a report showed.

Theft: A 16-year-old Youngstown girl was accused in the theft of a $25 gold ring from Dillard’s in Southern Park Mall.

Theft: A man age 25 to 30 reportedly took a six-pack of T-shirts as well as undergarments from Family Dollar, 4030 Market St.

Menacing/criminal damaging: A Shelbourne Drive woman alleged some of her former co-workers sent her threatening text messages after she had quit her job at a U.S. Route 224 restaurant. She also discovered someone tossed eggs at her garage door and four vehicles, damaging the paint on all four.

Theft: A man reportedly left Denny’s Restaurant, 154 Boardman-Canfield Road, without paying his $10.18 food bill.

Indecency: Authorities received a complaint that several people age 18 to 20 were harassing tenants and guests in and near a swimming pool at a West Boulevard apartment complex, and that one of the males exposed himself.

June 25

Arrest: After a woman told police about a fight with her son, they charged Kirk D. Snipes, 28, of Sunset Boulevard, Boardman, with two felony counts of intimidation of a public servant and one misdemeanor count each of criminal trespassing, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest. Snipes, who had a pipe for suspected drug use, twice told an officer he planned to sexually assault the officer’s children; Snipes also refused to cooperate, a report showed.

Vandalism: Police received numerous calls pertaining to possible gunshots near Market Street and Shields Road before an officer found a vehicle in the 50 block of Shields with eight bullet holes.

Aggravated menacing: A township family told authorities they had received information that a man has a list of people he may plan to harm or kill, which caused the family members to fear for their safety.

Arrest: A traffic stop on Southern Boulevard resulted in the arrest of Jameelah I. Wylie, 23, who listed addresses on Wildwood Drive in Boardman and Compass West Drive in Austintown, and who was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Breaking and entering: Someone entered a garage in the 4600 block of Simon Road, then removed a $150 bicycle.

Burglary: An Appleridge Drive man told police he saw a man about age 40 with blond hair in his garage trying to steal a power washer before he chased the would-be burglar, who fled in an Oldsmobile vehicle.

Theft: A woman reportedly stole five compact discs valued at $84 from Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 381 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: Alexis M. Collier, 19, of West LaClede Avenue, Youngstown; Cametrius J. Adams, 23, of Hawthorne Street, Struthers, and Keeyawna M. Chism, 30, of Wilhelm Street, Struthers, were charged with intentionally failing to scan $181 worth of items that included bedding sheets while at Walmart.

Domestic violence: Alexa L. Cannell of Stanton Avenue, Boardman, was charged after her boyfriend alleged Cannell, 21, struck him with an aluminum baseball bat, injuring his left forearm, during an argument related to Cannell’s apparently having allowed two people to move into the home.

Theft: Police charged Chelsie L. Berry, 23, with theft after alleging Berry, of Warhurst Road, Campbell, had taken $53 worth of merchandise from Walmart.

Theft: A man reportedly stole a 40-inch flat-screen TV from Target, 417 Boardman-Poland Road.

Criminal damaging: A woman reported a lamp post had been pulled from the ground at her Argyle Avenue home.

Domestic violence: David F. Juh, 52, of Colleen Drive, Boardman, faced a charge after his wife alleged that during an argument about their relationship, Juh had pushed her in the shoulder area, then grabbed both of the accuser’s shoulders.

Arrest: Authorities booked Luigi Farina, 76, of Chablis Lane, Poland, on a charge of violating a protection order, related to a June 19 incident in which a Sheridan Road woman alleged Farina had harassed and threatened her, in violation of the no-contact order.

Domestic violence: Authorities charged Lance M. Costello of Southern Boulevard, Boardman, after his girlfriend alleged that during an argument regarding text messages, Costello, 40, had threatened to kill her if she called police. He also implied that the accuser would be harmed as she slept, she further alleged.

Arrest: After pulling him over near Midlothian Boulevard, officers took Michael W. Moody, 54, into custody. Moody, of Ferndale Avenue, Youngstown, was wanted on a Struthers Municipal Court warrant charging failure to appear in court.

Theft: Renee L. Soich, 29, and Dennis J. Redeske Jr., 31, both of Cabot Street, Youngstown, along with Esther A. Holmes, 52, of Pointview Avenue, Youngstown, were charged with stealing $342 worth of items that included a CD player from Walmart.

Theft: Jessica A. Gillespie, 29, faced a theft charge after police alleged Gillespie, of Overland Avenue Northeast, Warren, had taken makeup and other merchandise from Five Below, a discount store at 411 Boardman-Poland Road.

June 26

Aggravated menacing: A Griswold Drive man alleged a neighbor, of Brainard Drive, had threatened to get someone to kill the accuser during a dispute about taking down a chain-link fence.

Assault: A patient at a South Avenue long-term care facility reported another resident pushed him in the face in a hallway.

Theft: A woman reportedly stole five men’s T-shirts from Family Dollar, 4030 Market St.

Possible child endangering: A Girard woman reported that when she picked up her two children in the 7400 block of West Boulevard, she noticed a bruise about the size of a quarter on her 4-year-old son’s forearm.

Theft: Nicole D. Cruse, 45, of Ash Street, Youngstown, was charged with theft and possession of drug paraphernalia after $35 worth of body spray and deodorant was taken from Family Dollar, 4030 Market St. Cruse also had a suspected crack-cocaine pipe, a report said.

Arrest: David B. Sweeney, 19, of Iroquois Street, Struthers, was taken into custody during a traffic stop near Mathews Road and charged with underage possession of alcoholic beverages.

Theft: A Struthers woman told officers her purse was missing from her car while the victim was in the 1800 block of Oles Avenue.

Theft: A woman reportedly took $90 worth of clothing from T.J. Maxx & More, 717 Boardman-Poland Road.

Robbery: An Allan Drive man claimed two men had stolen his 1998 Buick Regal and that when he ran from the robbers, they caught up to him and punched him, though the victim had changed his story, police said. The vehicle was later recovered in the 3100 block of South Avenue.

June 27

Arrest: Authorities at the Mahoning County jail booked Michael A. Guerriero, 29, of Idaho Road, Austintown, on a charge of violating a protection order after his former spouse alleged that while working at a Crossroads Drive business earlier this month, Guerriero had sent her a text message, even though he’s not allowed to have any communications with her.
