The NAACP gives Youngstown schools’ Mohip good grades

Youngstown City Schools CEO Krish Mohip’s grades improved for his second six-month CEO review.

The Youngstown Chapter of the NAACP gave Mohip three A’s, two B’s and a C for his second six-month CEO review Monday morning.

His first six-month review, in January, resulted in three A’s, two C’s and one D.

Mohip scored A’s in open lines of communication, setting the right priorities in the strategic plan and responding to an Ohio Civil Rights Commission complaint; B’s in addressing seven different civil-rights complaint cases and providing timely responses to requests for public records and information; and a C in hiring best academic practitioners for underperforming schools.

Mohip scored a D in hiring best academic practitioners on his last review.

Jimma McWilson, NAACP vice president, commended Mohip on his improved communication skills despite what board of education members claim and the actions he continues to take in district matters.

He said the school board didn’t respond when issues were brought to board members’ attention.
