Lecture on importance of sleep at JCC

Stacy Hunger, a respiratory therapist and sleep technologist at Northside Hospital, will give a lecture on “The Importance of Sleep” at noon Friday at the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane.

Part of the JCC’s Lunch and Learn series, the one-hour lecture will explain how sleep affects both mental and physical health.

The audience also will learn about barriers to good sleep, sleep testing, sleep disorders, and treatments and recommendations for good sleep.

Hunger’s lecture is free and open to the public. A light lunch will be served.

At the JCC’s next lunch event, the hit 2016 film “La La Land” will be screened, preceded by a lunch at noon in the multipurpose room. “La La Land,” a musical romantic comedy-drama, stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.
