Adrian Beltre, Shin-Soo Choo and Drew Robinson homered off Michael Pineda, and the Rangers held on for the road win. Robinson’s solo shot was his first major league hit and put Texas up 7-0 in the fourth inning. The Rangers improved to 11-5 over their past 16 games.

Blue Jays 8, Royals 2

KANSAS CITY, MO.

Blue Jays closer Roberto Osuna struck out three in a scoreless ninth inning a day after saying he was dealing with anxiety issues. Jose Bautista homered for Toronto and drove in a season-high four runs. Francisco Liriano (4-3) earned his 100th career victory. Jorge Bonifacio homered for the Royals. Scott Alexander (0-2) got the loss.

Astros 8, Mariners 2

SEATTLE

George Springer, Yuli Gurriel and Evan Gattis homered, and the Astros wrapped up another winning road trip. Houston improved to a major league-best 29-9 on the road. It also owns the top record in baseball at 52-25.

Angels 4, Red Sox 2

BOSTON

Parker Bridwell pitched 62/3 innings and the Angels scored three runs after their challenge overturned an inning-ending double play in the second.

Orioles 8, Rays 5

ST. PETERSBURG, FLA.

Joey Rickard hit a tiebreaking double in the ninth inning, sending Baltimore to the road win.

Athletics 5, White Sox 3

CHICAGO

Sonny Gray pitched seven effective innings for Oakland, and Adam Rosales and Matt Joyce hit back-to-back homers in the ninth.

The Los Angeles Dodgers found a new way to extend their winning streak to 10 games, scoring five runs on four wild pitches to go along with two more homers from rookie sensation Cody Bellinger. Bellinger now has 24 home runs, helping the Dodgers stretch their longest string since they won 10 straight in August 2013. Colorado lost its season-worst fifth in a row. Rockies reliever Adam Ottavino (1-2) threw four wild pitches in the late innings, all of them scoring at least one run. Pedro Baez (2-0) pitched a scoreless inning for the win and Kenley Jansen got five outs for his 17th save. Jansen also walked his first batter of the season after striking out 51 in a dominant year.

Diamondbacks 2, Phillies 1

Daniel Descalso lined a run-scoring single in the 11th inning, and the Diamondbacks extended the best start in franchise history.Paul Goldschmidt, who had a run-scoring single in the fourth inning, singled against Edubray Ramos (0-7) in the 11th and Chris Owings walked after fouling off several pitches. Descalso lined a ball through the right side and Goldschmidt scored just ahead of the throw. Arizona has won 11 of 13 and is 48-28 overall. T.J. McFarland (4-1) worked around a walk in the 11th for the Diamondbacks.Arizona had a runner on in the ninth, but Phillies center fielder Odubel Herrera made a leaping catch on Descalso’s drive to the wall to end the inning.

Marlins 4, Cubs 2

MIAMI

The Cubs wasted a fine pitching performance by Mike Montgomery, stranding 11 runners and allowing three unearned runs. Edinson Volquez (4-8) gave up five hits and five walks in five innings, but he stranded eight runners and departed with a 3-2 lead. Miami’s Ichiro Suzuki, 43, became the oldest player to start in center field since at least 1900, surpassing Rickey Henderson. Suzuki batted leadoff for the first time this year and went 0 for 4, dropping his average to .200.

Brewers 7, Braves 0

ATLANTA

Travis Shaw became the first player to reach SunTrust Park’s right-field roof, belting a long two-run homer for the Brewers. Zach Davies (8-4) pitched seven innings of four-hit ball.

Reds 6, Nationals 2

WASHINGTON

Scooter Gennett homered, and the Reds scored five times in the first inning off Tanner Roark.

Mets 8, Giants 2

SAN FRANCISCO

Rene Rivera homered twice, Rafael Montero pitched into the sixth inning in a spot start and the Mets finished off the series sweep.

INTERLEAGUE

Tigers 7, Padres 5

SAN DIEGO

Mikie Mahtook drove in three runs, including a tiebreaking two-run single in the ninth inning, and the Tigers snapped an eight-game losing streak.
