Women’s conference

COLUMBUS

Registration is open for the biennial Ohio Women Veterans Conference on Aug. 12 at the Ohio Union at Ohio State University, 1739 N. High St.

Registration is free, but there is a fee for an optional lunch. A registration ticket is required for admittance.

The theme is Celebrating Generations of Service-67,000 Veterans Strong. Topics include managing money military-style, maximizing military skills on a civilian resume, support and mentoring for women veterans in the workplace, challenges with aging, statewide resources and access to benefits.

There are more than 50 exhibits and 20 speakers offering information about Ohio’s new fast-track to jobs and education and services available locally through 88 County Veterans Services Offices. Sponsored by the Ohio Department of Veterans Services and the Ohio Women Veterans Advisory Committee, the conference is expected to attract 750 Ohio women veterans. Completed training

Air Force Reserve 2nd Lt. Eric Wolf, a graduate of Liberty High School and Thiel College, Greenville, Pa., recently completed Officers Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala. He is the son of Anthony and Ruth Wolf of Liberty.

Wolf is furthering his training to become a navigator with the 910th Airlift Wing at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station in Vienna. Lt. Col. Bart Elsea delivered the oath at the commission ceremony, and Wolf’s sisters, Rachel and Jessica, presented him his gold bars.

BASIC TRAINING GRADS

Air Force: Airman Kendall L. Dingus, a 2015 graduate of Lords-town High School. He is the son of Heather J. Dingus of Campbell and Westley Dingus of Lordstown, and James A. Dingus of Lords-town, brother of Bryce Dingus of Campbell and grandson of Ellen and Donald Dingus of Lords-town; Reserve Airman 1st Class Brooke Harper, a 2017 graduate of Crestview High School, Columbiana; Airman Joshua D. Keller, a graduate of T.C. Robinson High School, Asheville, N.C. He is the son of Karen Tabaka of New Middletown; brother of Marine Sgt. Nicole Keller of Camp Lejeune, N.C., and Lindsey Keller of New Middletown; husband of Tana L. Keller of Hendersonville, N.C., and son-in-law of Darrell and Madie Burnette of Weaverville, N.C.
