JUNE

Tuesday and Wednesday — PGA Junior Golf Academy at Yankee Run Golf Course. The academy will be conducted by PGA Golf Professional Bob Collins. Cost is $90 and includes instruction, scramble tournament with prizes, awards and lunch. Sessions are 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., with the exception of the scramble on June 28. JULY

6, 13, 20, 27 — Mill Creek MetroParks Golf Course third annual Junior Golf Program. The program is open to juniors ages 5 to 15. Participants will have the opportunity to learn the game of golf, its values, life skills, fitness and proper etiquette in a four-week instructional series. The program will be instructed by Mill Creek MetroParks PGA Director of Golf Brian Tolnar and Head Professionals Andy Santor and Stacie Butler. Players can register at the Mill Creek Golf Course Golf Shop or by calling the Fieldhouse at 330-740-7112. Registration is $99.99 per junior and will include 4 days of PGA golf instruction, program t-shirt, range balls, golf bag tag, golf balls, golf coupons, 10-pack range pass, Q&A session, guest speakers, prizes, rules overview, fitness exercises, drills, games and prizes. 10 — 32nd annual Children’s Circle of Friends Celebrity Golf Scramble Fundraiser at The Lake Club. Proceeds will benefit the Foundation and its work to support the Children’s Mental Health Treatment Programs offered by Alta Behavioral Healthcare, the Mahoning Valley’s largest outpatient mental health service provider for children, teens and their families. 15 — 12th annual Sunshine Benefit Golf Outing at Lakeside Golf Course. Three-person scramble. Cost is $225 per team. The event is to benefit Mandy Miller Fitch of Austintown, who needs a kidney transplant. 15 — Girard High School RoboCats Golf Outing at Mahoning Country Club. Shotgun start at 9 a.m. Lunch and dinner will be served. Prizes and skill contests will be held.

15 — Fourth annual Mineral Ridge High School Athletic Department Golf Outing at Pine Lakes Golf Club. Shotgun start at 2:30 p.m. Four-man scramble. Cost is $75 per person or $300 per team. Contact the Mineral Ridge Athletic Department at 330-652-1451, ext. 1211 to register.

17 — Ohio Girls Golf Foundation Showcase at Avon Oaks Country Club. LPGA Tour professional Barb Mucha, along with local PGA and LPGA professionals, will headline the event, which affords girls a unique opportunity to learn tips from numerous professionals and golf in a tournament all in one day. Open to high school girls, including incoming freshmen and graduated seniors, the event includes a morning of interactive skills clinics, 18-hole tournament and awards presentation for individual low gross and best team. 26 — Independent Insurance Agents of Mahoning County Junior Classic at Mill Creek Golf Course. Morning tee times available. Registration deadline is July 21.
