Hour of Power to celebrate

Hour of Power Full Gospel Tabernacle, 1126 Fruit Ave., will celebrate 41 years of service at 11 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. Patricia Tatum of New Life Covenant Church in Sharon, Pa., will be the guest speaker.

New Bethel Baptist will mark its 93rd anniversary

The New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hillman St., invites the public to join in celebrating its 93rd anniversary at 5 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Todd Johnson and the congregation of the Second Baptist Church in Warren will be the special guests.

The theme for the Anniversary is “Connected and Committed to Kingdom Ministry with God.” The program will feature the presentation of new 50-year members, the dedication of memorial bricks to be placed in the prayer garden and a video libation tribute to honor deceased members of New Bethel.

5 delegates will attend Catholic leaders event

The Catholic Diocese of Youngstown will send five delegates to the Convocation of Catholic Leaders in Orlando, Fla., July 1-4. The delegates from the Diocese of Youngstown are Cindee Case, Adrienne Curry, Rachel Hrbolich, Pete Schafer and Barbara Walko.

7 appointed to review board

YOUNGSTOWN

Bishop George V. Murry, S.J. has appointed seven new members to the Diocesan Review Board for the Protection of Children and Young People.

The new appointees join those already serving on the board. The new board members come with a wide range of expertise relevant to the issues of child abuse, including law, social services, medicine, pastoral ministry, psychology and municipal child protection.

Annual Women’s Day

YOUNGSTOWN

Mount Zion Baptist Church, 827 Wilson Ave., will have its annual Women’s Day beginning with a morning worship service at 11 a.m. July 9. Barbara Thompson will be the guest speaker.

Assessments for all Mount Zion women is $65. A payment plan is available. There also will be a 4 p.m. afternoon service Women’s Day Banquet at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Hall, 343 Via Mount Carmel Ave. Deacon Dr. Flora Dees will be the guest speaker. There will be a donation of $35 per person.
