Suzyn Schwebel Epstein named JCRC president


YOUNGSTOWN

Jewish Community Relations Council of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation elected a new president, Suzyn Schwebel Epstein. Epstein is a member and program chairwoman of the Youngstown State University Center for Judaic and Holocaust Studies Program Advisory Committee, which she helped create for the initial fundraising.

Epstein is president of Friends of the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor and has been president of the Junior League of Youngstown, a foundation trustee of Planned Parenthood of the Mahoning Valley, a board member of the Henry H. Stambaugh Auditorium Association, a graduate of Leadership Mahoning Valley Class of 2000 and past member of many more organizations.

Epstein is a recipient of many awards and honors. Most recent was an initial Hall of Fame inductee of the League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown and recipient of the League’s community Volunteer and Philanthropist Award.

Other members installed were Atty. Neil Schor, president-elect; Rochelle Miller and Rabbi Joseph Schonberger, vice presidents; and Samie Winick, secretary.
