Drive-by shooting

WARREN

A 30-year-old city man suffered two gunshot wounds to the lower part of his legs during a drive-by shooting on Brier Street Southeast at 11:20 p.m. Wednesday.

The man told police he was standing outside when a car went by and someone “just started shooting.”

The man had a gunshot wound to one lower leg and a “large traumatic injury” to the other leg near the ankle.

He said he believed he was not the intended target.

People calling 911 about the incident said it sounded like 25 to 30 shots were fired.

Police interviewed the victim at St. Joseph Warren Hospital before he was transferred to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
