Trumbull Art Gallery Summerfest

Trumbull Art Gallery is offering art classes for children age 8 and up through June 30.

Opera Western Reserve receives $1,000 donation

Opera Western Reserve has received a donation from the Walter E. & Caroline H. Watson Foundation for $1,000 in support of the 2017 opera production.

Opera Western Reserve will present its next production, “Lucia Di Lammermoor” in November at Stambaugh Auditorium.

Leanne Binder to perform at DeYor

Local singer Leanne Binder will perform an evening of music ranging from rock ’n’ roll and blues to country and soul. Joining her will be some of her voice, guitar and piano students from SongMill Studio.

‘Star Trek’ prequel gets launch date

“Star Trek: Discovery,” a 15-episode prequel to the adventures of Capt. Kirk, Spock and the Enterprise, will launch on CBS’ streaming service on Sept. 24.

“Discovery,” CBS All Access’ second original drama series, will follow the voyages of Starfleet on its missions to discover new worlds and new lifeforms.

The series boasts a cast of genre franchise veterans, including “The Mummy’s” Michelle Yeoh, “Harry Potter’s” Jason Isaacs, “Hellboy’s” Doug Jones, “The Office’s” Rainn Wilson and “The Walking Dead” and “Once Upon a Time” alum Sonequa Martin-Green.
