AUCTIONS

Easter Seals of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana Counties will host the 12th annual auction at Margaritaville from 6 to 10 p.m. July 21 at St. Michael Life Center, 252 N. Broad St., Canfield. BINGO AND CARDS

The Hubbard Historical Society will present A Night of Old Fashioned Bingo on Wednesday at the Hubbard VFW Post 3767, 710 West Liberty St. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the first game starts at 6 p.m. Twenty games will be played in the downstairs banquet room. The first 50 players will receive free tote bags. All proceeds will be shared between the winners and the Hubbard Historical Society.

FAIRS, FESTIVALS

Celebrate Poland annual festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 1. The committee is asking for arts and crafts, nonprofit organizations and small businesses to fill in spaces. For information or to sign up call 330-757-4584.

Poland Presbyterian Church Strawberry Festival will take place from 5 to 8:30 p.m. June 30 at the church lawn, 2 Poland Manor. Food items available will include strawberries, ice cream, shortcake, hot dogs, sausage sandwiches, snacks and beverages. Live jazz music and a basket raffle also will be included. FUNDRAISERS

The Chocolate Chik and Expressions of You will host a golf outing at 10:30 a.m. July 23 at Mahoning Country Club, 710 E. Liberty St., Girard. Cost is $75 per person or $300 for a team of four which includes green fees, cart, food, drink and 18 holes of golf. Skins are $5 each, and prizes for closest to the hole will be given. There also will be raffles and gifts for all participants. Proceeds will be donated to the Fight Like a Girl Foundation for children who have one year or less to live. St. Luke Holy Name Society is planning its ninth annual golf outing for 1 p.m. July 22 at Bedford Trails Golf Course. All proceeds will be used to replace or repair facility equipment. There will be a shotgun start and a four-man scramble. Men and women are welcome. Event sponsors are $500; gold sponsors, $360; silver sponsors, $150; and hole sponsors, $75. St. Joseph’s Church in Austintown, 4545 New Road, will host the St. Vincent de Paul “Christmas in July” event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 8. Various vendors will display trees, ornaments, lights and other Christmas decor. All proceeds benefit the St. Vincent de Paul soup kitchen and food pantry.

West Side Cats and All About the Pawz motorcyle run will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 16 at Austintown Park, 6000 Kirk Road. Helping Hands Closet at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, has new and gently used clothing for the entire family. Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays. June is surprise sale month.

Junior Group of Goodwill Industries will host a tent sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday in the parking lot of Goodwill Industries, 2747 Belmont Ave., Youngstown. Items for sale include jewelry, vintage clothing and accessories, antiques and collectibles. All items are from donations made to Goodwill. No coupons, discounts or promotions are honored at this sale.

Ohio Living Home Health and Hospice Senior Center will host a rummage sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 11 to 31 (sale will be closed on weekends). Donations may be made from now until the sale, items large and small (no clothing and no televisions or computer screens please). Donations can be dropped off from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday (the building is next door to Ohio Living Park Vista). If unable to take donations in, please contact the senior center to make arrangements to have them picked up. Items accepted are appliances, baby items, books, collectibles, crafts/supplies, home decor, lamps, frames, toys, furniture, glassware, holiday decor, jewelry, kitchenware, knick-knacks, electronics and sporting goods. SPECIAL EVENTS

Mahoning Valley Historical Society will host a scavenger hunt meets road trip at 5 p.m. Friday to test participants’ knowledge of history. Individuals or teams will begin at the Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St., Youngstown, with clues to landmarks throughout the Valley. Take a smartphone or digital camera to record the landmarks. The final clue will lead to the finish line for pizza party with soft drinks or BYOB. The Poland Historical Society will offer guided walking tours of historic sites in Poland as part of Celebrate Poland 2017. Tours of historic South Main Street will be offered June 28 at 7 p.m. and July 1 at 1 p.m. Meet at Poland Village Hall, 308 S. Main St. Tours of the Old Graveyard next to Poland Presbyterian Church at 2 Poland Manor will take place June 29 at 7 p.m. and June 30 at 6 p.m. The Graveyard Tour is new this year with an emphasis on early residents who died of unnatural causes. A tour of the 1897 church will take place June 30 at 8 p.m.

Guilford Lake Civic Association is sponsoring the 36th Annual Guilford Lake July 4th Boat Parade. The parade will start at 2 p.m. July 4 from the Public Swim Beach on Teegarden Road. The 2017 parade theme is “Your Favorite Sport Team.” Call 330-222-1759 for entry and details.

SUMMER CAMP

The Mahoning Valley Historical Society is hosting two summer day camps at the Tyler Mahoning Valley History Center, 325 W. Federal St. The first camp is July 10 to 14: My Town, Your Town for age 8 to 12. Participants will explore 10,000 years of history in five days with all new field trips, activities and camper-driven projects. The second camp, July 24 to 28 is designed for Young Historians age 12 to 15. The campers will dive a bit deeper into local history as they learn what it’s like to be a real historian. They will complete a special project, a website, a video or an exhibit about a local history topic. Both camps run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. TRIPS

AARP 4611 East is planning a trip to Pittsburgh for a luncheon cruise on the Gateway Clipper on July 15 and still has seats remaining. Cost is $70. There will be free slot play on the river casino.
