Yurcics planning party, Mass for 50th anniversary

GALLATIN, TENN.

George and Theresa Yurcic will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary June 24, with a party and Mass at Kennesaw Farms Social Hall in Gallatin, Tenn. Their sons, George (Wendy) Yurcic, and grandson, Carsten, and Michael Yurcic and granddaughter, Charlotte, will host the event. Invitations will be extended to family and friends. As a celebratory gift, the couple’s sons are sending them on a 14-day Alaskan cruise in July.

Mr. Yurcic and the former Theresa Bernat were married on June 24, 1967, at St. Matthias Catholic Church in Youngstown.

Mrs. Yurcic was the owner/hair stylist of Shear Elegance Salon, Hudson, Ohio. She retired in 2005. Mr. Yurcic is employed by the U.S. Postal Service as an electrical engineer. He plans to retire this year.

The Yurcics are members of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Henderson, Tenn. She is a member of the Bunco card club and belongs to the Rosary Auxiliary.

Mrs. Yurcic is also a past president of the Altar Guild. Mr. Yurcic is a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He also served in the U.S. Navy from 1960-63 aboard the USS Dominant MSO-431 as an electrical technician.
