Guests gathered for the monthly paper craft program at the Austintown library on May 26.

Every month Austintown librarian Lindsay Platt hosts a paper craft program for people to come in and make a different craft. All of the materials needed were supplied and Platt told the guests the instructions before they began.

This month, the guests made a “Dooney and Bark” bag. It was a mini paper bag that had dog bone and fire hydrant patterns. The craft was called “Dooney and Bark” when someone made a remark that it looks like a Dooney and Bourke bag for dogs.

There were several guests who have gone to most, if not all, of the paper craft programs. Many of the guests attend with their friends while others come by themselves. Those who have come for several programs have formed bonds with each other. The attendees say that this program is something that allows them to show their creative side while spending time with their friends and making new ones.

There was a sample of what the craft would be next months and guests who attended had the opportunity to sign up for the next program.
