Birding the Sanctuary

When: Saturday, 8 to 9:30 a.m.

What: Enjoy an early morning bird walk led by Jeff Harvey of Wild Birds Unlimited.

Where: Mill Creek Wildlife Sanctuary, 2650 W. Calla Road, Beaver Township

Details: Registration required at Ford Nature Center by next Thursday. Space limited; boots required. Moderate difficulty; 1.25 miles

Father’s Day Old-Fashioned Fun

When: Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m.

What: Bring your dad out for some old-fashioned fun. Admire antique cars, discover toys from a past era, tour the Old Mill to learn how grain was made into flour before electricity, create a handmade craft, and more.

Where: Lanterman’s Mill, 1001 Canfield Road, Youngstown

Cost: Regular Mill admission, $2 additional for each craft

BEAUTIFUL, NATIVE PLANTS

When: Monday, 9:30 a.m. to noon.

What: Learn about native plants that are beautiful and attract pollinators. We’ll show photos and give you resources so you can go native.

What: Join the Trumbull County master gardener volunteers for an educational program in the garden.

WATER QUALITY CELEBRATION

When: Next Thursday, 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.
