Robbery suspect jailed
YOUNGSTOWN
A man is in the Mahoning County jail without bond on charges including abduction and aggravated robbery. Jamal Turner, 25, surrendered to police Monday in Youngstown.
U.S. Marshals originally arrested Turner in November 2016 in connection to an armed robbery at a Dunkin’ Donuts on Youngstown-Poland Road in Struthers last July. The abduction charge stems from the allegation he kept employees at the store against their will.
A warrant was issued again for his arrest in April after he did not show up for court hearings. He also faces charges of driving under suspension and being a convicted felon in illegal possession of a weapon.
Drugs, weapon in car
YOUNGSTOWN
Police arrested a man on drug charges Monday and a passenger in his car on weapons charges after a traffic stop around 5:05 p.m. at Cameron and Zedaker avenues.
Reports said officers pulled over a car driven by Robert Duval , 37, of East Dewey Avenue for an improper turn on the South Side street. Reports said Duval told police he had no license, and he agreed to a search of himself and his car.
When officers searched the car, they found a loaded .380-caliber semiautomatic handgun hidden under the passenger seat where Raylin Blunt, 39, of Summer Street was sitting. Blunt was charged with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Hidden in the dashboard police found a dose of suspected crack cocaine and two doses of suspected heroin. Duval was arrested on charges of possession of cocaine and possession of heroin.
Both men were taken to the Mahoning County jail.

Suspect identified
WARREN
Police have identified a suspect in a robbery from the Family Dollar store at 2186 Parkman Road in which the robber assaulted a clerk.
Police say a store employee observed the male in his late 40s or 50s try to leave with three containers of laundry detergent pods stuffed into his jacket at 5:35 p.m. Monday.
As the male tried to leave, the employee tried to hold the door closed, but the man “ran at the door and charged into [the employee], forcing his way out the door.
The employee got the license plate number of the male’s motorcycle, which came back to a man who matched the image from the store surveillance video. No charges have been filed.
