Ferguson advances to next round on 'AGT'

Daniel Ferguson, a 2012 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, impressed all four judges of the NBC talent show “America’s Got Talent” on Tuesday night’s episode and was given the green light to advance to the next round.

The 23-year-old Kent State University graduate who now lives in Mans- fi eld said he was performing in front of an audience for the fi rst time and then proceeded to wow the judges. In his act, he sang “Cake by the Ocean” by DNCE in the voices of several cartoon characters, including Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Kermit the Frog, Scooby Doo and Peter Griffin from “Family Guy.”

Projections of the characters flashed behind him as he sang. Ferguson also snuck in a verse in the voice of “AGT” judge Simon Cowell. Each of the four judges gave Ferguson a “yes” vote. “Everyone is going to love this act,” Cowell told Ferguson after his performance.
