Fitch grad to appear on NBC’s ‘America’s Got Talent’ tonight

Daniel Ferguson, a 2012 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, will appear on “America’s Got Talent” tonight.

The competition show airs at 8 p.m. on NBC. Hosted by Tyra Banks, the contestants are judged by Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Simon Cowell and Mel B.

Ferguson does voice impressions of cartoon characters.

The 23-year-old graduate of Kent State University lives in Mansfield, where he works as a sales representative for several radio stations. His parents also have moved in recent years to the Toledo area.

Ferguson has made several videos of his impersonations over the past three years and posted them on YouTube. In some of his videos, he sings popular songs in the voice of several characters.

His goal is to become a voice actor for children’s television shows and movies.

“I love being able to make people laugh, and I think the voices I have learned over the past several years have really helped me become more comfortable with myself,” he said.
