BINGO AND CARDS

The Hubbard Historical Society will present a night of old-fashioned bingo June 21 at the Hubbard VFW Post 3767, 710 W. Liberty St. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the first game starts at 6 p.m. Twenty games will be played in the downstairs banquet room. The first 50 players will receive free tote bags. All proceeds will be shared between the winners and the Hubbard Historical Society.

FAIRS, FESTIVALS

Celebrate Poland annual festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 1. The committee is asking for arts and crafts, nonprofit organizations and small businesses to fill in spaces. For information or to sign up, call 330-757-4584.

Poland Presbyterian Church Strawberry Festival will take place from 5 to 8:30 p.m. June 30 at the church lawn, 2 Poland Manor. Food items available are strawberries, ice cream, shortcake, hot dogs, sausage sandwiches, snacks and beverages. Live Jazz music and a basket raffle will also be included. FUNDRAISERS

The Chocolate Chik and Expressions of You will host a golf outing at 10:30 a.m. July 23 at Mahoning Country Club, 710 E. Liberty St., Girard. Cost is $75 per person or $300 for a team of four which includes green fees, cart, food, drink, 18 holes. Skins are $5 each and prizes for closest to the hole will be given. There also will be raffles and gifts for all participants. Proceeds will be donated to Fight Like a Girl Foundation, for children who have one year or less to live. St. Luke Holy Name Society is planning its ninth annual golf outing for 1 p.m. July 22 at Bedford Trails Golf Course. All proceeds will be used to replace or repair facility equipment. There will be a shotgun start and a four-man scramble. Men and women are welcome. Event sponsors are $500; gold sponsors, $360; silver sponsors, $150; and hole sponsors, $75. St. Joseph’s Church in Austintown, 4545 New Road, will host the St. Vincent de Paul’s “Christmas in July” event July 8 from 10 am to 4 p.m. Various vendors will display trees, ornaments, lights and other Christmas decor. All proceeds benefit the St. Vincent de Paul’s soup kitchen and food pantry.

West Side Cats and All About the Pawz motorcycle run will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 16 at Austintown Park, 6000 Kirk Road. Cost is $15 per bike, $5 for a passenger and $10 bike show entry. Sign up begins at 10, first bike out at 11 and bike show from 1-4. Proceeds benefit West Side Cats and All About Pawz. A fundraising quarter auction, “Kids & Canines,” will take place Thursday, at The Youngstown Saxon Club, 710 N. Meridian Road, Austintown. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the auction starts at 6 p.m. There will be more than 90 prizes, including Cleveland Indians tickets. Vendors will be present. Tickets are $5 and include a bidding paddle, a door-prize ticket, soft drink and popcorn. Mahoning Valley Historical Society will host a scavenger-hunt-meets-road-trip at 5 p.m. June 23 to test your history knowledge. Individuals or teams will begin at The Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St., Youngstown, with clues to different landmarks throughout the Valley. Take a smartphone or digital camera to record landmarks. Final clue will lead to finish line for pizza party with soft drinks or BYOB. Cost is $5 and registration begins at 5 with the race at 5:30. Independent transportation is required. YWCA Youngstown will have a Paint and Taste from 5:15 to 7:45 p.m. June 29 at 25 W. Rayen Ave. Susan Jacobs, award-winning artist and local art educator, will guide participants in the creation of a beach scene on a 16” x 20” canvas. No experience is necessary. TRIPS

Canfield AARP 3104 is planning an overnight bus trip to Kentucky on Friday and Saturday. There will be two shows at Renfro Valley, a tour of the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and Noah’s Ark in Williamstown. There will be an overnight trip Aug. 15 and Aug. 16 with a boat ride to Blennerhassett Island in the Ohio River, tour of the state park and tour of the Blennerhassett Mansion. Mahoning Gardens Horticulture and Gardening begins touring urban farms and community gardens today at 6 p.m and every Monday until Aug. 14.
