25 — Friends of Melana 5K and 1-mile walk/run in conjunction with Garrettsville Summer Fest. Event benefits glioma childhood cancer research. Entry fee is $25 for the 5K, $15 for the 1-mile. JULY

8 — Dan Dunlap Memorial 5K Run & Kids Half-Mile Fun Run. The event is in memorial of former Pymatuning Valley High School and Ohio University All-American runner Dan Dunlap. The course will be the PV cross country course through the Pymatuning Local Schools Campus, 5571 State Route 6 West Andover. Entry fee is $15 in advance or $20 on race day. The 5K race begins at 9 a.m. The kids run is $10. The half-mile race begins at 8:30 a.m. Call Ricky Watters at 419-230-7786 for more information or to register.

5 — Salem X-Tra Mile Club will host its 22nd annual Star Trax night run as a fund-raiser. For information, contact race directors John McClish at 330-337-5051 or John Scheets at 234-567-1272.
