Prison time for man

YOUNGSTOWN

A city man with three prior domestic-violence convictions has been sentenced to four years in prison after he pleaded guilty as charged to felonious assault and domestic violence in a Dec. 24 attack on his wife.

The victim required stitches on her lip after Blackmon assaulted her with his fists, said Steve Yacovone, an assistant county prosecutor.

Blackmon will be on post- release control for three years after prison.

On Jan. 4, 2016, Judge Durkin sentenced Blackmon to nine months in prison after he pleaded guilty to domestic violence in a Sept. 24, 2015, incident, in which he was accused of using a baseball bat against his wife and an 11-year-old.
