Alyssa Lengyel and Shawn Patterson are planning an open ceremony in Youngstown on Sept. 30. Their parents are announcing their engagement.

Miss Lengyel is the daughter of Scott and Dawn King of Youngstown. Mr. Patterson is the son of John and Kim Libby of Austintown.

The bride-elect is a clerk at Sparkle Market in Cornersburg. The prospective groom is a press operator for Fresh Mark in Salem.
