Along the way, it explores how he was troubled much of his life by self-doubt and insecurity due to childhood trauma.

Packard Band takes a musical road trip

WARREN

The Packard Band will present its first concert of the summer outdoor season at 7 p.m. Sunday on the South Lawn band shell at Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave. NW.

Titled “A Musical Road Trip Across the U.S.A.,” the performance will be led by conductor Stephen L. Gage. Admission is free.

Daniel Carioti, a music specialist in Warren city schools, will be featured on tenor saxophone on “Route 66.” Other selections will include “Shenandoah,” “Porgy and Bess,” “Bayou Breakdown” and “The Stars and Stripes Forever.”

Poobah songs on Netflix film

AUSTINTOWN

Poobah, the psychedelic hard-rock band fronted by Mahoning Valley native Jim Gustafssen, will return to JR’z pub in the plaza at New and Raccoon roads, Saturday for a 9 p.m. show. A couple of songs by the band can be heard playing on a radio in a scene from the film “In Between Us,” which is currently on Netflix. Two more Poobah songs are in the film “Huntsville,” which will be released on Netflix next month.

Gangster auction

BOSTON

Jewelry that belonged to Al Capone and Bonnie and Clyde and legal documents pertaining to the infamous gangsters are on the auction block. The “Gangsters, Outlaws and Lawmen” auction being handled by Boston-based RR Auction includes Capone’s platinum and diamond pocket watch that demonstrates his desire to be perceived not as a criminal but as an elegant gentleman. Online bidding begins June 15. The live auction is June 24.
