Tri-Gold Torch Prime Time Chapter of ABWA will meet for a social at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will follow at 6 Wednesday at A La Cart Catering, Canfield. Chaney High School Class of 1965 will celebrate its 70th birthday party reunion from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. July 29 at St. Christine Church, 3165 S. Schenley Ave., for a casual dinner dance. Western Reserve Amateur Radio Club will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Davidson’s Restaurant, 3636 Canfield Road, Cornersburg. Stephen Chalmers of Youngstown State University will be speaking. Chalmers is an associate professor of photography and digital imaging. WRARC will host its annual amateur radio field day June 24-25. One-on-one sessions with our technology educator can be scheduled most Monday afternoons and some Monday evenings. Call to reserve a 45-minute time slot and tell us what you would like to learn. The library will be participating in USDA Summer Food Service on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 1 p.m. We’re offering free meals to age 1-18, as well as stories with a librarian Tuesdays and free movies Thursdays. RELIGIOUS GROUPS
The Interdenominational Ministries Alliance (IMA) will meet Monday in the Mt. Gilead Fellowship Hall on Hillman Ave. The Rev. Clifford Kimbrough will serve as the host for the final meeting of the program year. Officers will be elected for the upcoming year. The calendar for 2017-18 will be crafted soon by the incoming administration. All reports and materials were to be submitted by June 8 to distribute materials to the body in a timely manner. The Eastern Ohio Baptist Association, where Pastor Ernest Ellis serves as its moderator, will be convening literally down the street from our meeting at Greater Friendship Sunday through Wednesday.

William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society will meet June 17 at Kravitz’s Deli Meeting Room, 3135 Belmont Ave., Liberty. Tom Welsh, a public historian and local author, will present his new book, “The History of Jewish Youngstown and the Steel Valley,” co-authored by Joshua Foster and Gordon Morgan.
