Poland man faces charges for February OD in Boardman

BOARDMAN — Township police on Tuesday took custody of a Poland man wanted on a warrant related to a drug overdose.

Ralph Detoro III, 45, of Diana Drive, is charged with inducing panic for the incident reported Feb. 17 at Akron Children's Hospital Beeghly Campus' parking lot on Market Street.

According to a police report, Detoro shot up heroin, overdosed, then was dropped off in front of the hospital's emergency room area. He was revived with Narcan, a medication that reverses the effects of an opioid overdose.

Detoro is scheduled to appear in Mahoning County Area Court here Thursday for arraignment on the misdemeanor charge.
