Bedroom units at YWCA available

YOUNGSTOWN

The YWCA of Youngstown is accepting applications for four- and two-bedroom units at its facility at 1311 Kensington Ave.

The four-bedroom unit is designed for full accessibility, including a wheelchair-accessible kitchen and bathroom. Other accessible features include wide doorways and halls, accessible kitchen counters and cabinetry, roll-in showers, easy to reach light switches and no steps or barriers to entry. Interiors of the units have been updated. Each unit includes a security system and energy efficient appliances and heating system.

The project addresses the need for affordable housing for low- to moderate-income families and veteran families at risk of homelessness. It will provide a home for a minimum of 12 individuals and six families annually through a combination of transitional and permanent supportive housing.

The YWCA partners with Section 8 and VASH voucher programs to assist in keeping the rent affordable for tenants.

Visit brightsideprojectohio.org to donate to the project. Checks also are accepted; make payable to The Brightside Project and mail to P.O. Box 314, Salem, OH, 44460.
