The Mahoning Valley Young Professionals will have a volunteer event with Beatitude House on Saturday for a cleanup and flower planting to help get the house ready for summer.

MVYP will donate the flowers for the gardens.

Growth plan for Burgan Real Estate

898 Marketing, a strategic marketing consultancy, recently announced a new marketing partnership with local real-estate company Burgan Real Estate.

As part of the new partnership, 898 Marketing will lead the development of a cohesive communications and marketing plan, encompassing internal branding elements as well as external marketing strategies for the 40-year-old company.

The Canfield-based marketing firm will be charged with creating a strategy to assist Burgan Real Estate in achieving a long-term growth strategy, which includes the expansion of home listings, agent acquisition/retention and general branding efforts.

Manufacturing Institute for kids

YOUNGSTOWN

The YWCA will have a Summer Manufacturing Institute for fourth to sixth grades starting June 19.

The institute includes three sessions: Engineering of Music, June 19-23; Boat Building, July 10-14; and Construction, July 24-28.

The cost is $150 per week. Participants may enroll for all sessions. Some scholarships are available.

The camp, now in its fourth year, is a joint initiative of the OH WOW! children’s museum, downtown Youngstown, and the Youngstown YWCA.

Laird small-space rail app available

Global technology leader Laird recently launched the Transport Locomotive Control Unit, LCU, a space-saving solution for industrial rail applications.

The new Transport LCU, which is now available for supply, is installed inside the locomotive and serves as the controlling system for remote, wireless control movement of a locomotive through a railyard and is designed as a small-space, easy-install solution.

Laird enables mobile connectivity through wireless applications and antenna systems, and components and solutions that protect electronics from electromagnetic interference and heat.
