Discussion on racism in Youngstown is set at DeYor on June 12

The faith-based community organizing group ACTION (Alliance for Congregational Transformation Influencing Our Neighborhoods) will present “Bridging the Gap: White Meets Black, Black Meets White,” a public panel discussion on racism, beginning at 5:30 p.m. June 12 at DeYor Performing Arts Center, 260 W. Federal St.
The program will involve the participation of community leaders, government officials, and businesspeople.
Cause of Liberty crash is under investigation
LIBERTY
A vehicle ran off Keefer Road in the area of Moorelene and Red Oak drives Saturday but did not hit any homes. Authorities said the incident occurred about 3:40 p.m., and the driver was not seriously injured.
The cause is under investigation.
2017-’18 registration for Austintown is set

Austintown Local School District will continue kindergarten registration for the 2017-2018 school year for students living in the district.
Kindergarten registration packets are available at Austintown Early Learning Center, 4211 Evelyn Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The packet explains all documents needed.

Gunman reported on North Park in Warren
WARREN
Gunshots and a person possibly wounded along North Park Avenue in the area of Scott Street and Orchard Avenue were reported to the Trumbull County 911 Center about 12:45 p.m. Saturday.
According to the 911 report, callers said they saw a man with an automatic handgun in the parking lot of the Circle K store on North Park and, possibly, someone down and injured there. Callers also said a man in red was chasing the shooter, who was described as a white male with tattoos on his face, wearing black clothing and a black backpack.
Police were not available for comment on the incident, but it was reported the gunshot victim fled in a sport utility vehicle. No gunshot victim was located at either Warren hospital.
Cook to seek his same post after retirement
WARREN
Ernest Cook, the current Trumbull County 911 director, will seek re-employment in the position after his retirement at the end of the month.
The county commissioners will have a public hearing regarding Cook’s proposed re-employment at 11 a.m. June 14 on the fifth floor of the County Administration Building in the commissioners’ hearing room.
Cook began acting as the full-time director in May 2016, and worked at the center part time for several years before his promotion.
