3-D printing milestone
YOUNGSTOWN
Youngstown State University has commercial equipment representing seven methods of 3-D printing, believed to be the first such technological milestone in the eastern United States.
Earlier this spring, by way of a state grant, YSU received a new 3-D printer that provides for an additive manufacturing process known as Sheet Lamination. YSU is the second university in the nation with all seven technologies.
In addition to the commercial printers, YSU has more than 40 desktop 3-D printers supporting educational and research activities, more than $1 million of new related inspection, measurement and 3-D scanning equipment and $500,000 in advanced automation and electronics manufacturing equipment.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says Roberts was traveling west on Painesville-Warren Road, also known as Old State Road, when he collided with the back of a van, which also was in the westbound lane but backing up at the time.
The van, driven by Edward Thomas, 69, of Warren, had stopped in the roadway after missing a turn and had begun to back up at the time of the crash.
