Poland’s KaiLi Gross and Brooke Bobby combined to throw a one-hitter against their Canadien opponents. Gross was credited with the pool-play win. Jackie Grisdale knocked home three runs on two triples and Abby Farber hit a two-run home run. Poland (1-0) will play Virginian side Atlee today at 4:45 p.m.

COLT 15-U EAST ZONE CHAMPIONSHIP

Grennsboro 11, Knightline 1

GREENSBORO, N.C.

Knightline put seven hits on Greensboro ace C.J. Neese, but couldn’t get the runs over home plate. Neese, an N.C. State commit, struck out five Knightline batters. Bobby Cavalier was the lone Knightline hitter with more than one hit in the game with two. Tommy Pitko pitched five innings and left the game with the deficit at 4-1. Knightline is the East Zone’s runner up, while Greensboro advances to the Colt World Series.

11-U LITTLE LEAGUE
